The Committee meeting was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Ukraine in Charge of Emergencies and Protection of People from the Consequences of Chornobyl and scientific research institutions.
During the meeting the Committee members stated that "introduction and functioning of Ukrainian State Registry fails to completely comply with the requirements of Article 16 of the Law "On the Status and Social Protection of Persons suffered following Chornobyl Disaster" and the "Statute of Organization and Functioning of Ukrainian State Registry for the Persons suffered following Chornobyl Disaster", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The Committee resolved that establishment of Ukrainian State Registry for the Persons suffered following Chornobyl Disaster has not been completed yet. Current shortcomings in its work "diminish possibilities of using registry data fro settling the issues concerning overcoming Chornobyl aftermath and medical protection of the population".
